This week I have given a little time to my indoor potted plants...... or pot plants as they are called in Australia.... and there is a lot of satisfaction and simple joy in seeing attractive plants in the home.
I bought a new Peace Lily and three terracotta pots, and filled the other two with existing plants from the garden.
We also got back to our singing, after having to cancel in the previous two weeks, with Barry's respiratory virus. Mandy, the Activities Officer, and Doug, a volunteer at the home, are great, making us feel so appreciated. We also changed their day from a Friday to a Wednesday each month, so that we have another day we can go to tennis on Friday, and that is something we enjoy very much. And no concerts on the calendar this week as it is the fifth week of the month, and that is relaxing and a simple joy too.
I ordered some books from Word (Australian Christian Bookstore), a little treat for myself this week. It is always a joy to open a parcel, I remember as a child that Mum ordered from a big department store, we used to pore over the catalogue and then wait with excited anticipation for the mail..... there were so few treats in those days.
